Recently, Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic Vocational College hosted a video meeting titled “USA-Ukraine: Partnership of the Democratic American and Free Ukrainian People for Peace.” The event brought together educators, scientists, diplomats, military personnel, and students from both countries, reaffirming that cooperation between Ukraine and the United States of America continues to grow despite all challenges.
Partnerships between educational institutions in Ukraine and the United States of America have a long-standing history, contributing to significant improvements in the administration of Ukrainian colleges, student vocational training, as well as the development of veteran centers. Vadym Ovcharuk, Director of the Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic Vocational College, shared his experience as the initiator of the first Ukrainian Veterans Center, which was established at the institution after his internship in the United States of America in 2024.
The American side was represented by members of Florida State University of the United States Department of State, representatives of colleges and educational programs, which support Ukrainian educational institutions. Specifically, researcher Vilma Fuentes noted that Ukrainian educators and students demonstrate remarkable resilience and a strong desire for growth even during wartime.
The central theme of the meeting was the Ukrainian people’s gratitude for U.S. support during difficult times. Participants honored the memory of fallen Ukrainians, including 25 graduates of the Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic College, who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine’s independence.
At the end of the event, a Ukrainian flag inscribed with words of gratitude to the American people was signed, which will be sent as a symbol of friendship and partnership between our nations. Such initiatives strengthen Ukrainian-American cooperation and open new opportunities for the development of education, science, and support for veterans.
